about

Shanty recognises this as a sign of Armageddon. Socially, Shanty recognises the difficulties that the new social and political system will have to tackle. The 'Neanderthal invasion' is the break up point of the new system, as those of a higher class and established education consider the ground floor social folk to be the reason and influence of this coming tide of violence. All sides recognise a hopelessness. The social side sees it as an opportunity to be tighter and more together than ever, coming together as a larger and stronger team. Politically, they give up and retire. Becoming only a social nation, the people are left stranded for and by themselves; although ready for anything that is to come, they miss the blissful ignorance once again, and knowing it to be too late to go back, they simply come together to 'sing a shanty', as the 'ship goes down'.
